In August, 2010, the city of Seymour, in collaboration with civic organizations and the public schools, opened the new Jackson County Learning Center (JCLC) to expand educational opportunities for its citizens. Whether hosting classes from some of Indiana’s top universities, bringing college opportunities to our doorstep or tailoring corporate training programs, JCLC is designed to promote life long learning.
Seymour citizens enjoy the convenience of classes offered from Indiana University, Purdue University, Indiana Wesleyan, and Ivy Tech Community College.
Seymour Community Schools has over 4,100 students and provides comprehensive academic programs and extensive extra curricular opportunities. Our pride in our programs is matched by our high levels of achievement.
Seymour is home to a wide variety of parochial schools that serve preschool through 12th grade. Our parochial and public schools enjoy a collaborative relationship that results in high quality educational opportunities for all learners.
We believe that learning is a life-long endeavor, and curriculum, technology and instruction will be relevant to students to achieve a quality life.
